Free eye test in the comfort of your own home
The qualified optometrists can carry out a free eye health test in the comfort of your own home. The home eye test will last for about 50 minutes, after a prescription has been created, we will then be able to provide a bespoke glasses and frames to meet your needs. We also offer additional support and aftercare once your glasses have been delivered.
You may feel that you do not require an eye examination due to good vision however eyes can deteriorate slowly without you realising as you age. Below is a list of common eye conditions with elderly patients:
Glaucoma, Cataract, Diabetes and Macular degeneration are amongst the leading age-related conditions that can greatly affect your vision. If detected in the early stages, treatment can prevent further or serious damage.
Therefore, it is recommended that adults have an eye test every 2 years, unless advised otherwise by their optician.
Your typical home eye test will conduct the flowing steps:
- Gather your prior data of medical issues and examine your current glasses prescription
- Test your level of vision near and far
- Examine the health of your eyes for signs of abnormality, disease or injury.
- Test the pressure of your eye for such issues as glaucoma
- Provide a selection of frames and lenses for you to choose form to cater for your needs
2 – Optician carries out home eye test
Your optician visits your home at an allocated time. They’ll ask about your eye care history and any problems you may be having. They’ll then conduct an eye test, using specialised equipment for use in the home. Then provide you the results as your eyesight prescription.
3 – Choose your glasses
If your eye test indicates you need glasses, you can choose from our collection of over 150 frames, you have a choice from free NHS frames up to designer frames we have something for patient. If you qualify for NHS funding it will lower the cost of glasses for even the mid and higher range.
4 – Glassess delivered to your home
We deliver your new glasses within 3 weeks of our visit. You will also receive a written record of the outcome of your home eye examination.
